A homelessness simulation that shines a spotlight on the hidden aspect of homelessness that many in our community experience--living in their cars. Participants will "live" out of their cars during the overnight hours. Goals can start at $250, but we challenge participants to raise $1,000 per team.
Friday, February 6th, 2026 at 7 pm. The simulation will be done "drive-in" style at Trinity Lutheran Church, 801 South Madison Street, in Bloomington. The church will be open for quick bathroom breaks and coffee.
The event will begin with a number of learning activities in the building followed by the spending majority of the night in your vehicles. We typically reconvene in the morning to discuss the experience and participants' major takeaways.
If you prefer, you also have the option to Drive-Through, where you can join us for activities only and leave when needed, or choose to set Cruise Control and participate at your own speed online from home. It's a great way to experience the event without leaving the house! Challenge your family members and friends to join you.
Your participation helps those in need right here in Bloomington-Normal. When you reach your $1,000 goal, you and all of your supporters provide one month of food and shelter for one person. That then allows that person to gain stability and begin to initiate steps toward becoming a contributing citizen of the community. You help provide others the opportunity to a fresh start!
Check out what our past volunteers had to say about participating. Make an impact and challenge yourself, family, and friends today!
